The Mother Franciska Elementary School, under the Seton Foundation for Learning, is a private special education school located in Staten Island, New York.  The Seton Foundation for Learning is affiliated with the Department of Education of the Archdiocese of New York, from which it is granted accreditation. The program is open to all faiths and religions.

Our school provides 10 and 12 month educational services to students with significant special needs, ages 5 to 14 years old. We offer individualized instruction in small, highly structured classes with low student to teacher ratios. Our goal is to teach our students meaningful and functional age appropriate skills that are necessary to develop independence by providing them with a functional academic curriculum.

Our highly qualified, skillful and caring faculty, set high expectations for our students and teach all subject areas, including reading, math, spelling, science and social studies. In addition students are taught independence in their daily activities as well as the crucial language and social skills necessary for them to be successful in developing peer relationships. Each student's instruction is tailored to the student's individual learning needs with individualized student goals and objectives. Each student’s progress is measured and the data is analyzed on a regular basis. This allows us to modify the student’s curriculum or the teaching strategies used with the student if necessary.

The school is located in a barrier-free building on the grounds of St. Joseph Hill Academy. The proximity of the schools provides our students with an invaluable opportunity to interact with typically developing peers during lunch each day and during other regularly scheduled special events. The interaction with typical peers from our host school is an important component of our program.
