Parent and Family Services

The Seton Foundation for Learning is a place of learning and support for our students and their families.  We believe that collaboration with families and outside agencies and resources can help our students to reach their full potential.

Parent Workshops and Parent Training:

Workshops and trainings are provided in order to educate parents on relevant topics of interest that can help our students and families move forward.  These trainings are run by the psychology department and administrators.  We have in service trainings with our relevant staff in addition to professional speakers from various outside agencies.  Some of the agencies we have had at our school include the Child Mind Institute, Parent to Parent NYS, and Eden II.  Workshops are provided several times a year and speakers are chosen based on parent interests and concerns.

Parent Association:

The Parent Association meets once a month.  The meetings alternate between the morning and the evening each month in order to accommodate our parent’s schedules.  One unique aspect of this group is that the parents have children from a  wide age range, as the group incorporates all three schools.  This wide age range allows parents of older students to act as resources of knowledge and support for parents of younger students.  Our parents support one another, network, and gather helpful resources and information.  They also find speakers and guests to relay valuable information that will benefit the lives of our students.  In addition, the Parent Association acts as a fundraising organization to help supplement and support our school in order to ensure appropriate funding for various student activities and special events.
