Bishop Patrick V. Ahern High School, under the Seton Foundation for Learning is a private, special education program for students ranging from 14-21 years of age.  The Seton Foundation for Learning is affiliated with the Department of Education of the Archdiocese of New York, from which it is granted accreditation. The program is open to all faiths and religions. The curriculum teaches age appropriate, functional skill development while continuing to provide academic enrichment and teach skills necessary for independence.

The proximity of our host school, Moore Catholic High School, provides for continued opportunities throughout the school day for the students of Bishop Ahern High School to interact with their typically developing peers.  These opportunities include our peer socialization project as well as integrated lunch periods in the main cafeteria.

The combination of functional academics, social skills training and a vocational, community based work study program help to prepare the students for adult life. Bishop Ahern High School is fortunate to have community partnerships with Dr. Scandaglia’s veterinarian’s office, Meals on Wheels, The Old Bermuda Inn, and Applebees.  Our newest vocational program known as The Bridge Program is in cooperation with the Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inn.  Spearheaded by Mr. and Mrs. Nicotra, the program allows for students to become an integral part of the work environment, as well as to gain work readiness skills outside of the traditional classroom.

Bishop Ahern High School is committed to providing a supportive environment in which our students can develop their academic, social, and vocational skills in order for each individual to become a self-advocating adult.
